Carris Columbus Grigg

Carris Columbus Grigg, 74, of Grover, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at his home.
He was born October 15, 1942, in Lincoln County, son of the late Ambrose Grigg and Ila Ross Grigg.
Carris loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a great Christian man who was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Shelby and served as an usher in the church for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Grigg.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 20 years, Reba Costner Grigg; daughter, Doris West and husband, David; son, Billy Grigg; stepson, Bill Costner and wife, Lisa; stepdaughter, Tammy Greene and husband, Scott; brother, Clyde Grigg; sisters, Earsie Wood, Margaret Hastings, Helen Rayfield, Ola Harmon and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Brandy Bumgardner, and husband, Louie, Bryan West, and wife, Allyson, Brett West, Jonathon Greene, and wife Jamie, Erica Calaway, and husband Joe, Brandon Costner; and great grandchildren, Logan, Cameron, Kensley, and Gracie Bumgardner, Brentley West, Lexi and Chandler West, Ensley and Nataley Greene; and fur babies, Dolly and Princess.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Barry Goodman and Rev. Johnny Owens, will be held 2:30pm on Sunday at Faith Baptist Church, 2738 S Post Rd, Shelby.
He will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family will receive friends Saturday, 6-8pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd. Gastonia.
Interment will be in Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
