Carroll "Butch" Maynard Downs, Jr., 56, of Lawndale, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 at home.

Born in Cleveland County, on July 25, 1964, he was the son of Dorothy Whisnant Downs of Lincolnton and the late Carroll Maynard Downs, Sr. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. Butch enjoyed working on small engines and cars, he loved to mow his grass.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of thirty-three years Melanie "Boo" Towery Downs; son, Dustin Downs of Casar; two daughters, Reda Downs of Shelby and Amanda Downs of Forest City; brother, James Downs of Lincolnton; three sisters, Donna Norman and Judy Martinez both of Lincolnton and Peggy Downs of Vale; and a grand son, Ayden Granados.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, at 3:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Pruett officiating.
