Casey Jay Blackwelder

Lincolnton - Mr. Casey Jay Blackwelder, 24, passed away on Sunday, June 18,
2017 at Carolinas Medical Center - Lincoln.

Casey was born in Catawba County, NC on June 18, 1993. He was a 2011
graduate of West Lincoln High School and also graduate in May of 2017 from
UNCC with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and also played with the
Frank Love Orchestra. Casey was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in
Cherryville where he served as the Youth and Music Director for three years.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Jane and Burt Blackwelder; Paul
Barger; Danny Leonard and Roy and Kathleen Foutz.

Survivors include his wife, Bethany Burress Blackwelder of the home; his
parents, Andie and Jeff Gavin of Lincolnton and Bobby and Robin Blackwelder
of Kannapolis; a brother, Gabriel Gavin of Lincolnton; a step-brother,
Dennis Bost of Kannapolis; step-sister, Samantha Lefler and husband Ronnie
of Kannapolis; grandparents, Kelly and Sherree Stroud of Lincolnton and Ann
and Gene Gavin of Toms River, New Jersey; mother-in-law and father-in-law,
Denise and Randy Burress; a brother-in-law, Ben Burress all of Cherryville;
also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and his
church family.

The family will be accepting visitors at the home, 211 N. High Street in
Lincolnton, on Thursday and Friday until 8:00PM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 24,
2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cherryville with Rev. Wayne Key
officiating.

The family will also have a reception following the service in the
fellowship hall at Mt. Zion Baptist Church to greet guests.

Burial will be Private

Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Youth or Music Program,
112 Mt. Zion Church Road, Cherryville, NC 28021.
