Catherine Rae Long, 95, died Sunday, October 22, 2023, at her home.

She was the daughter of the late Cyrus and Garr Ledbetter. Catherine was a faithful member of Flint Hill Baptist Church, she loved cooking and making rolls for all her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Long; brothers, Durham and Joe Ledbetter; and sister, Iva Howington. She is survived by her sons, James "Bud" Long and wife Karen of St. Simons Island, GA, Russell "Rusty" Long and wife Dana of Hendersonville, and Charles "Chuck" Long and wife Ellen of Charlotte; daughter, Cathy Calvert and husband Mark of Roswell, GA; sister, Elaine Gregory; grandchildren, Abby Long, Taylor Long and wife Megan, Katherine Long and fiancé Bobby, and Elizabeth Long Costner and husband Clay; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday October 25, 2023, at Clay-Barnette with Rev. Keith Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church.
