CCC students awarded scholarships

Summer Mosteller and Jared Belcher have been awarded scholarships from the State Employees' Credit Union Foundation. They will each receive a total of $5,000 to help pay for tuition, books, fees and supplies during the fall and spring semesters of the 2015-16 and 2016-17 school years.
Mosteller is a 2015 graduate of Burns High School, where she maintained a 4.1 grade point average while participating in many extracurricular activities and volunteering in her community. Her future plans include attending Cleveland Community College to earn her Associate Degree in Nursing. Her goal is to become an oncology nurse so she can help cancer patients.
Belcher graduated from Kings Mountain High School in 2015 with a 4.0 grade point average. He is a member of Kings Mountain First Wesleyan Church where he is actively involved with community outreach initiatives. In high school, Belcher held several offices including vice president of the National Honor Society, Secretary of the Beta Club and Treasurer of the Interact Club. He plans to obtain his Associate of Science Degree at Cleveland Community College, and transfer to Western Carolina University to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.
