CCC Students Receive SECU Scholarships

Three students pursuing education through Cleveland Community College's Continuing Education programs have received scholarships from the State Employees' Credit Union Foundation.

Amanda Bullard, Joyceanne Causby and Lisa Hendrick participated in the Pharmacy Technician Certification Training. They each received $750 to help cover the cost of books, supplies, transportation and other expenses.

Completing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Training course equips students to work under the supervision of a pharmacist. The course work provides students with basic but essential knowledge and skills required to work successfully as a technician in a pharmacy. The course also helps prepare students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.

In 2013, the State Employees' Credit Union Foundation introduced the SECU Continuing Education Scholarship program. It funds scholarships at each of the 58 North Carolina Community College campuses. The program focuses on assisting unemployed and underemployed adults, military veterans, and members of the National Guard. Participants must be enrolled in a program that leads to a state recognized or industry supported credential.
