CCRM Receives Grant
Food Lion Store Manager, Carl Rothrock and CCRM Executive Director Michael Gullatte.

Cleveland County Rescue Mission was recently awarded $3,500, a grant from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, which is the philanthropic program of Food Lion, a grocer headquartered in Salisbury, N.C. The Charitable Foundation's grants are designed to assist in hunger-relief programs such as the CCRM Community Soup Kitchen.
"We are truly appreciative of this gift, said Michael Gullatte, executive director of Cleveland County Rescue Mission. "Food Lion's generosity will help us stock our shelves and feed those who are most in need."
CCRM will use the gift to provide food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, medical assistance for the poor and a renewed sense of self-worth for so many. The CCRM mission is "helping people find peace and provision." The nonprofit agency offers Christ-centered addiction recovery programs and an array of educational classes such as personal finance, GED, job skill training, theology, healthy living and basic life skills. These programs help the mission's residents to build self-confidence, further their education, gain employment and transition to more stable or permanent housing.
