Cecelia Alana Philbeck McSwain age 67 died Sunday March 20, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County on January 22, 1949 she was the daughter of Margia Anna Creach Philbeck of Shelby and the late Cecil Allen Philbeck. Cecelia was a member of Blessed Way Baptist Church in Fallston where she loved to sing in the choir. She retired from First National Bank after 38 years of service. Cecelia enjoyed decorating and being with her family. In addition to her father, Cecelia is preceded in death by her brother, Bryan Philbeck.

In addition to her mother, Cecelia is survived by her husband of 25 years, Ken McSwain of Shelby; a son, Barry Melton and wife Angie of Bostic; a daughter, Anitra Jones and husband Richard of Shelby; a sister, Glenda Cline and husband Steve of Shelby; a brother, Allen Philbeck and wife Debra of Rock Hill; stepchildren, Regina Hughes and husband Thomas of Vale and Todd McSwain of Shelby; and a granddaughter, Alana Melton.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Blessed Way Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 22, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
