Charlene Diane Hughes Bridges, 59 of Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Atrium Health - Cleveland, Shelby.

Born in York County, South Carolina on October 19, 1964, she was a daughter of the late Jimmy Ezell Hughes and Carolyn Diane Adams Hughes. She was employed at Dole and loved working with plants.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Hughes.

She is survived by her two daughters, Shannon Pennington of Shelby and Crystal London and fiancé Benjamin Chandler of Grover; two brothers, Jimmy Hughes of Kentucky and Raymond Polk of Clover; a sister, Teresa Lowe Wallace of York; and seven grandchildren, Jordan Rocque and fiancée, Bailey Chapman, Noah Rocque, Makayla Roberts and fiancé, Austin Ashe, Rylee Pennington, Novalee Pennington, Aniah Pennington, and Ella Pennington.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
