Cherryville - Mr. Charles David "Mike" Randall, 90, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025 at his residence.

Mike was born on August 5, 1935 in Gaston County, NC a son of the late David Monroe Randall and Jessie Ballard Randall. He was a graduate of Cherryville High School class of 1953 and received his undergraduate degree at Catawba College where he played baseball and toured England, France and Monaco with the theater group. He was a 1965 graduate of the UNC Chapel Hill School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor degree and served as president of his senior class. Mike worked as stage manager at the Barter Theater in Abington, VA after college. He retired as an assistant district attorney working in both Lincoln and Cleveland Counties. Mike loved to play golf, cards and enjoyed fishing, especially at the ocean.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Wise Beam.

Survivors include his daughter, Fielding Yelverton and husband Joshua of Gastonia; two sons, Chris Randall of Richmond, VA, and John Scott Randall of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren, Patrick Randall, Specialist Colin Randall, U.S. Army, Reese Randall, Kieran Randall, Stella Randall, Sienna Randall, Benjamin and Pearce Yelverton.

The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rusty Stroupe officiating.

Burial will be private.
