Charles E. "Chuck" Sane

Charles E. "Chuck" Sane, age 89, of Mooresboro, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Chuck was born Monday, July 18, 1932 in Rutherford County to the late Sam Walter Sane and Minnie Lee Young Sane. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and Appalachian State University. Chuck was a High School Science teacher for over thirty years. He taught for the Fairfax Virginia Public Schools for twenty-five years. Chuck was community minded having taught the Master Gardener Program at Isothermal Community College for many years and a longtime member of the Chase Lions Club. He was also an active member of Florence Baptist Church where he taught a Men's Sunday School class.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty years, Edith Kimbrell Sane; four brothers, Chris, Marion, Maurice and Virgil Sane and two infant sisters.

Left to cherish fond memories are his son, Phil Sane (Pam) of Clifton, Virginia; brother, Frank Sane of Rutherfordton; grandchildren, Christine Walizer (Chris) of Sterling, Virginia, Mitch Sane of Breckenridge, Colorado and Carly Sane of Fairplay, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Camden, Calleigh and Carson Walizer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to the Robert and Janice McNair Education Foundation, East Rutherford High School, PO Box 635, Forest City, NC 28043 or to the Chase Lions Club, 149 Verdery St., Forest City, NC 28043.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Tonya Garrison and Reverend Mike Elgin officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 pm prior to the services at Harrelson Funeral Home.
