Charles Elwyn McCall, age 67 died Sunday October 14, 2018 at home. Born in Mecklenburg County on, June 9, 1951, he was the son of the late Richard Graham and Juanita Detter McCall. Charlie was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church where he served on the Easter Breakfast Committee. He began his career at McDonald's and retired from Jack in the Box as Director of Operations. Charlie was a member of the Blue Oval Ford Club; he and his wife would travel around to events in a red Mustang convertible. Charlie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and going to sporting events to watch his grandchildren play. Charlie was an avid sports fan. In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by a brother, Sonny McCall.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Anna Bridges McCall; three daughters, Jennifer McSwain (Chad) of Kings Mountain, Alicia Zacarolo of Concord, and Jessica Fowler (Wesley) of Cherryville; seven grandchildren, Taylor and Kayla McSwain, Elaina and Avery Zacarolo, Brennan McCall, and Jordan and Makenzie Fowler; father-in-law, Bill Bridges of Shelby; and his Canine companion "Benzlee".

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Ascension Lutheran Church with Pastor Christina Auch officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 10:30 am in the fellowship hall before the service. A private burial will be held at Cleveland Memorial Park.
