Charles Larry Philbeck, 79, of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain.

Born in Cleveland County on November 7, 1942, he was the son of the late Major Philbeck and Margie Stepp Philbeck. He was retired from the NC Dept. of Health and Human Services and was a member of Fallston Baptist Church where he served the church in many capacities over the years including deacon. He also served in the US Marines during the Vietnam Era.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Carolyn Wesson, Donnis Sakran, Mary Boyles and Joyce McKinney.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Eunice Faries Philbeck; two sons, Alex Philbeck of Ft. Mill, SC and Rocky Philbeck of Shelby; one daughter, Jennifer State and husband, Shawn of Peachtree City, GA; seven grandchildren, Alexandra Philbeck, Ava Philbeck, Alaina Cook, Sammy Philbeck, Carter Philbeck, Kiefer State and Jacquelyn State and two great grandchildren, Cailyn Cook and Coltyn Poteat.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 11:30 AM at Fallston Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Wade Dellinger and Rev. David Blanton officiating.
