Charles Ray Heffner, age 74 of Grover, NC, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at Atrium Health of Pineville.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Brandon Callahan (Kelsi), and Kristin Callahan (James), four great grandchildren, a brother, Johnny Heffner (Judy), a sister, Barbara Adams (Jerry), numerous nieces and nephews, and a family friend, Randy Carothers.

Born August 28, 1948, in Cleveland County, NC, Charles was the son of the late Mozon Heffner and Lucille Patterson Heffner and was preceded in death by his children, Cindy Heffner Callahan and Billy Heffner, a granddaughter, Heather Callahan, and a brother, Tommy Heffner.

Charles had a heart of gold. He was the kind of person that would help anyone when needed. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. To know him was to love him.

A visitation will be held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Cleveland Funeral Services. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, January 6, 2023 at Patterson Springs Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Steve Waters and Rev. Eugene Passmore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
