Charles Samuel Wright, 84, of Fallston Road, Shelby, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 peacefully at his home with his family by his side.

Born in Cleveland County, on September 5, 1936, he was the son of the late Onley Seth Wright and Lucy Mae Costner Wright. He worked for NAPA for 66 years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher and a RA leader. Mr. Wright was a board of directors member for Fallston Community Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Lowman.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Betty Lattimore Wright; two sons, Tim Wright and wife, Benni of Shelby and Rick Wright of Shelby and three grandchildren, Stephanie Wright-Benfield and husband, Cory, Emily Wright and Timothy Wright II and wife, Danielle.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Toby Bird officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
