Charles William "Charlie" Benfield, 47, of S. Main Street, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his residence.

Charlie was born in Burke County, NC on November 13, 1972 a son of the late Autry Benfield and Cynthia Ross Benfield. He was employed by Stanton Roofing.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha Ross.

Survivors include a son, Christopher Benfield of Waco; a daughter, Brittany Benfield of Hickory; two grandchildren, Brianna and Ian Wiesner and two sisters, Diana Beebe and Angela Peeler both of Waco and his grandfather, Charles Ross of Waco.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Capell officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service.

Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face coverings and social distancing will be required.
