Charlie E. Goodman, age 83 , of Casar, passed away on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 at Atrium Health - Cleveland , Shelby.
Charlie a native of Cleveland county was born on October 31st, 1940. Charlie was the son of the late William and Fannie Goodman. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his three brothers, Keith, Benny, and Larry Goodman, and one sister, Helen Hoyle. Charlie was known for his love of the outdoors, whether he was walking on the beach or enjoying the beautiful mountains with his family. In his spare time Charlie enjoyed tinkering and driving his old International Tractor around. Charlie was employed with Carolina Freight as a dock worker for over 30 years. He was a faithful and active member of Olive Grove Baptist Church.
Left to cherish the memories of this loving family man is his wife of 64 years, Nadine Goodman; two sons, Greg Goodman and his wife, Sheila and Jeff Goodman and his wife, Jennifer; one sister, Jean Street; four grandchildren, Cassidy, Jared, and Allison Goodman and Lauren Mellon and her husband Adam; four great grandchildren, Beau and Lane Goodman and Mason and Owen Mellon.
The family of Charlie will receive friends on Monday, August 26th, 2024 , at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm , at Olive Grove Baptist Church 123 Leman Gap Road Casar, NC 28020.
A funeral service to celebrate he life of Charlie will be held on Monday, August 26th, 2024 at 12:00 noon in the Olive Grove Baptist Church 123 Leman Gap Road Casar, NC 28020 with the Rev. Terrill Crump, officiating. Internment will follow the service in the Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
