Charlotte Symphony to perform free concert Nov. 14 at Barnes Auditorium

The Cleveland County Arts Council welcomes the Charlotte Symphony to Kings Mountain High School for a free public performance of timeless music on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, 7:30 pm. The concert is open to everyone of all ages. Resident Conductor Christopher James Lees will lead the orchestra in selections from Mozart and Bach to Strauss, Holst, and more.
Maestro Lees was named Resident Conductor of the Charlotte Symphony in 2018. Since then, Lees has curated and conducted more than 50 performances a year, not only leading Pops and family series concerts but also the Symphony's popular On Tap series at Charlotte-area breweries, and the Symphony's traveling series, CSO On the Go.
Founded in 1932, the Charlotte Symphony is a longstanding nonprofit organization committed to connecting and strengthening our community through exceptional musical experiences. Led by internationally renowned Music Director Christopher Warren-Green, the Symphony upholds the highest artistic integrity and takes bold steps to engage the community through music that enriches the human spirit. We employ professional full-time orchestra musicians, support two youth orchestras and a volunteer chorus, and offer significant educational programming aimed at improving underserved sections of our community.
This performance received support from the Dover Foundation, Inc. The Arts Council's mission is to educate, promote, support and enrich our community through arts activities that are creative, inspiring and inclusive. The Cleveland County Arts Council is deeply committed to its mission and working with organizations like the Charlotte Symphony to bring free musical performances to our area helps us to provide an experience that many in Cleveland County may not otherwise have access to.
