Charlsie ran into the arms of Jesus early on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Born in Carroll County, Georgia to the late Walter and Lillie Bell Carter, she was the youngest, the last and "the only girl" of 7 children. Married to John Henry Hewitt, Jr. on March 12,1949 til his death in 2007. She was also predeceased by her only child, Charles Donald Hewitt (2026).

She is survived by family left to cherish her memory, 1 granddaughter, Ginny Hewitt Luther (Jeremy); 3 great-grandchildren, Bryson, Kendall and August Luther all of Shelby, North Carolina.

Ms. Hewitt worked 23 years for Shawmit Mill and 10 years at West Point Shoe Outlet. She loved shoes, kittens and hummingbirds. When she was able she attended Roper Heights Baptist Church. Charlsie lived the past year in North Carolina at White Oak Manor where she was known for her sweet demeanor and for saying "OH, I love your shoes".

A celebration of her life is to be announced at a later date.
