Christie Lane Stone, age 57, died Sunday, August 6, 2018 at Hospice Wendover. Born in Cleveland County on August 14, 1960, she was the daughter of Helen McFarland Lane of Shelby and the late Clyde Francis Lane. Christie worked for Cleveland Country Club for a number of years and then became self-employed. She was of the Baptist Faith. Christie loved animals and enjoyed traveling. In addition to her father, Christie is preceded in death by her dear friend, Wendy Panther.

In addition to her mother, Christie is survived by her son, Dylan Stone of Shelby; her fiancée David Bridges of Shelby; former husband, Phil Stone of Cowpens, SC; Close friends, Jason Butler, Sharon Howell, Kim Greene, Melissa Jones, Andrea Barkley, Becky and Garland Butler, Debbie, Chase, and Natalie Webb, Jackie Weathers and Family, and Mary Sue Price; Aunts and uncles, Frances, Jewell, Mildred, Ophelia, and Bobby Lane; and her canine companion, Rocky.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Duncan Creek Presbyterian Church, 1634-1692 Duncan Creek Church Road, Ellenboro, NC with Rev. Mark Padgett officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
