Christine M. Jolley, age 83, of Cliffside, died Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born September 14, 1932 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Gifton McCombs and Essie McCurry McCombs. Christine worked for Cone Mills-Cliffside Plant for many years before retirement. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Mooresboro and enjoyed travelling and especially taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, James White Jolley; infant brother and sister, G.C. and Mildred McCombs and sister, Lois Tessnear.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Owens and husband, David of Cliffside; sister, Betty Hollifield of Mooresboro; two grandchildren, Marsha Greene and husband Chad of Caroleen and Michael Owens also of Cliffside; nephew, Terry Tessnear and wife, Chris of Stanley, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o'clock in the morning at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Mooresboro on Thursday, December 3, 2015 with Reverend Kevin Hamrick officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
