Christopher Carl Wray

Christopher Carl Wray, 61, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.

An avid cyclist Chris was born in Cleveland County and March 19, 1963 To the late Rachel Bridges Melton. Chis was a loving husband, father, brother and friends to all who know him. Chris served his country in the US Navy for many years, and was the CEO and founder of Work-Life Care Inc. He had a passion for the lord and was a chaplain and pastor to many.

A devoted servant of God, daddy, husband, brother, and friend, affectionately known as "Pop", Chris touched the lives of all who knew him. His love for cycling fueled his adventurous spirit, and his service in the U.S. The Navy demonstrated his deep commitment to God and his country.

As the CEO and founder of Work-Life Care Inc., Chris dedicated himself to supporting the well-being of others. His passion for the Lord led him to serve as a Chaplain and Pastor, offering spiritual guidance and comfort to many.

Chris will be remembered for his unwavering love, faith, and dedication to his country, family, friends, and community.

Chris is survived by his wife of 39 years Pamela Putnam Wray, their children, Caleb Wray (Brittany), Kendra Wray, Cameron Wray (Kate), and Kenslee Edwards (Adam). Also left to cherish his memory are his eight grandchildren, Bella Edwards, Colton Appling, Karis Appling, Adalee Edwards, Christian Appling, Cylas Wray, Olivia Wray, Vira Wray, as well as, his brother Jeff Wray (Tracie) and many loving nieces, nephews and family.

To honor the life of Chris, the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM in the sanctuary of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Friday, September 13, 2024 and other times at the home. A memorial service will be held following the receiving of friends at 6:00 PM on Friday September 13, 2024 with Pastor Andrew Bowen and Dr. Bryan Smith offering words of encouragement for those in attendance.
