Christopher "Chris" Swink, age 38, of Rutherfordton, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020.

Chris was born November 9, 1981 in Buncombe County, NC to Darlene Richards who resides in Forest City and the late Arlo Swink, Sr. He worked at the Cleghorn Plantation Golf and Country Club for many years. Chris loved spending time with his family, four wheeling, playing horseshoes and the outdoors. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Tar Heel Basketball fan.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Daniel Yount.

Besides his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his "first love", Sharon Swink; six children, Tyler Euten, Britney Swink, Taylor Swink, Christopher "Hot Rod" Swink, Jr., Payton Swink and Kaytlyn Swink; seven brothers, Craig Swink of Ellenboro, Arlo Swink, Jr. of Rutherfordton, Forrest Swink of Sandy Mush, Jeff Swink of Ellenboro, Ray Bright of West Virginia, Jesse Bright of Ohio and Tommy Golthic of Rutherford County; two sisters, Julie Swink Yount of Rutherfordton and Cynthia Godfrey (Ricky) of Bostic. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jesse Hardin and Reverend Chad Sisk officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
