Christopher Eugene Beaver

SHELBY: Christopher Eugene Beaver met his Lord and Savior with open arms on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland after a brief battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Chris, son of Jerry Talmadge Beaver and Nancy Borders Beaver, was born on August 29, 1967 in Shelby, NC. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everette Vernon Beaver and Lillian Short Beaver; George Dixon Borders and Ruth Arrowood Borders.

Chris is survived by his parents; his daughter, Kirstin Kaila Kale and husband Zachary Kyle Kale; and grandson, Damon Asher Kale. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Michael Beaver and wife Laura Jones Beaver; niece Kennedy Faith Beaver; and nephew Brayden Michael Beaver.

Chris was a 1985 graduate of Crest High School. Following graduation, Chris worked several years in the textile industry. He then went on to work for Hoechst Celanese in the polymer division, later finding a home and a career in quality control at Curtiss Wright Controls for the last thirteen plus years.

Chris lived a simple life and found great joy spending time with his family and friends. He loved to share what he learned from watching history channels and especially from shows highlighting the restoration of classic cars and hot rods. During his youth, he was known for having fast cars and burning a little rubber now and then. Through the years, Chris' love for sports was noticed whether he was on the baseball field, at the bowling alley, or putting on the greens. Chris especially enjoyed fishing. His patience and persistence paid off many days over the years at nearby lakes or even out on the deep blue seas waiting for the right one to bite.

Chris was kind hearted, caring and thoughtful of others. Despite the major health struggles Chris was facing, he often turned conversations to the wellbeing of others. He was more concerned with how his family and friends were doing than in himself. Chris never met a stranger. He could and would talk to just about anyone. He had an infectious smile and personality that instantly made friends with all ages.

Over the past few months, Chris shared his faith and clearly made known the trust he had in his Lord and Savior. He faced each day since his diagnosis with courage and strength. He inspired many to always look on the bright side no matter how dim the light appeared. His family and friends are so thankful for the time God granted them to be with Chris and cherish how close these past months have brought everyone together. His belief provided peace and comfort to those around him. He recently posted a verse that sums up how he lived each day - O taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man that trusteth in him (Psalm 34:8).

Chris will always be remembered for his sweet demeanor, tender heart, and dimpled smile.

The memories made with each life he touched will last a lifetime, but the love held dear by so many for Chris will last forever.
