Civil Air Patrol Cadets have busy month
Civil Air Patrol cadets participating a Wreath Laying Ceremony in Kings Mountain

On Tuesday, June 26th, 2017 from 5:30-7:30, two Civil Air Patrol cadets will be holding a workshop at the Kings Mountain Mauney Memorial Library called Operation Gratitude. Families can come out and learn how to make survival bracelets that will be sent over to military men and women currently serving.
The Civil Air Patrol Shelby Squadron has had a busy month helping educate our youth and being involved in the community. Several cadets promoted within the program to a higher rank including Arthur Coburn promoting to Cadet Captain, Cassie Woods Cadet Chief Master Sergeant, Bradley Metcaff Cadet Tech Sergeant, and Ryan Buckton to Cadet Senior Master Sergeant. These cadets have been focusing this months character development on bullying prevention along with guest speaker Sandy Hamrick of Cleveland County coming out to speak with them.
They have also been busy within the community assisting with the Fly-In at the Shelby Airport parking cars and directing planes on the runway, performed in a Color Guard Ceremony at the Tryon Equestrian Center and a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the City of Kings Mountain Memorial Day Ceremony. We want to thank them for their dedication to the program and working hard in our community serving others!
