Civil Air Patrol Shelby Composite Squadron perform Color Guard presentation in Raleigh

Recently, a group of six cadets from the Civil Air Patrol Shelby Composite Squadron traveled to the North Carolina Legislative Building located in Raleigh, NC. They had the distinct honor and privilege of being invited to perform a Color Guard presentation for the Open House General Assembly.
While there, these cadets also participated in a tour learning about the rich history, architecture, and function of the Legislative building and surrounding area. They met with Representative Kelly Hastings of Cleveland/Gaston County, and Speaker of the House Tim Moore. These cadets were excited to have this learning experience and represent the Civil Air Patrol program.
The cadets will be performing another Color Guard Ceremony this Sunday, May 27th for a Memorial Day Service at Cleveland Memorial Park Mausoleum, located at 1225 College Avenue, near Boiling Springs at 2pm. After the ceremony, the Shelby Composite Squadron will be hosting an open house at 832 College Avenue, Shelby, NC. This is for anyone wanting to learn more about the Civil Air Patrol program, an Air Force Auxiliary, for youth and adults. Light refreshments and a free gift for stopping by will be available while supplies last.
