Cleveland County Choral Society performs Spring Concert

On Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday May 3rd the 38th Annual Spring Concert by the Cleveland County Choral Society was presented at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Shelby. Under the direction of Kenneth Brooks, thirty-five very talented individuals lent their voices to an amazing presentation of Classics and Spirituals. The program offered a variety of songs which included Mozart's Regina Coeli as well as the Robert Frost poem "The Pasture" set to music. Their rendition of Rogers and Hammerstein's "You'll Never Walk Alone" concluded the first phase of the concert. After intermission, they offered in succession, "Ain'a That Good News", "Steal Away", and "Old Time Religion". "I Want Jesus To Walk With Me", "Shadrack", "City Called Heaven" and "Battle Hymn Of The Republic" concluded a great program. It is most fortunate that Cleveland County has a group such as this. They are definitely the pride of the county.
