The Kosa retirees fished Lake Norman last week, with pretty good catches reported. John Black and Roger McNeilly got the win with 9.55. David O’Shields and Doug Sparrow had 9.30 and took second place, with J R Garland getting third with 8.30. Big bass of the day went to Tommy Wess and James Haynes with a 3.60 largemouth. This week, the retirees fish Lake Hickory.


Moss


Twenty-one boats made the call for last week’s Thursday night shootout on Moss Lake. Scott Yarboro and Matt Frazer had 8.75 and took the win. They had a 2.70 largemouth that anchored their catch and took big fish of the evening. J R Garland and Ronnie Beason were second with 7.45. Randy and Randall Wright claimed third with 5.40, followed by Jerry Green and Daniel Downs with 3.95. Rounding out the top five was Chet Beam and Brian Shuford with 2.55.


J & J


The J & J Lake Norman Spring Trail fished on the Sunday side last week with 30 teams blasting off from Midway Marina. Shane Lineberger and Hank Cherry got the win with 14.10, followed by Mike Lovelace and Roger Griffin with 12.85. Shane and Larry Lehew were third with 12.55, and rounding out the money was Kenny Hoyle and Danny Lail with 12.0. Big bass was a 5.05 largemouth brought in by the team of Lovelace and Griffin. The J & J trail will fish next on the Saturday trail on May 29 and the Sunday trail will fish June 13. For more info on times check out fishwithdj.com.
