Cleveland County Veterans Council Remembers
Shelby’s First Baptist Church Ensemble
On Sunday, May 29, the Cleveland County Veterans Council held a special ceremony at Cleveland Memorial Park to honor all who made the supreme sacrifice. Wreaths were placed by all members of the council, The American Legion; Amvets; Disabled American Veterans; Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Shelby Detachment of the Marine Corps League. Guest Speaker was Lieutenant Colonel Charles Ayers of the U. S. Air Force, Retired. Music and song was provided by Shelby’s First Baptist Church Ensemble. A twenty-one gun salute was given by the N. C. Foothills Detachment of the Marine Corps League. It was a very moving observance and a reminder that we should always remember and care for our veterans.
