Cleveland Rutherford Kidney Association 3rd Annual Art Show & Wine Tasting

The Cleveland Rutherford Kidney Association presents Meet the Artists and a wine tasting by Woodmill Winery on Fri., August 17th from 6:30 until 9:00 pm at the Cleveland Mall. Meet The Artists... Johnny Fisher is a local artist who is self taught. He is married and has one daughter and lives in Fallston. Johnny has been painting for about 4 years. He used to watch Bob Ross on TV, and buy his books and DVD's. This is what led him to start his hobby He had a strong fascination with landscapes. Johnny has about 4 years before he will retire and he hopes to continue his painting for many years to come. His paintings range in price from $100-$250 and some are on display through the 18th of August at the 3rd Annual Cleveland Rutherford Art Show. This is Johnny's first ever Art Show and he will be on hand to meet and greet you Friday evening at the Art Show event.
Renee Ledford, who was an integral part of the Kidney Association passed away two years ago. She had many pieces of needlepoint that she had done. There are more than 15 pieces still on exhibit and offered for sale. Several of her pieces have already sold. Also for sale is the book Renee wrote, "The Mustard Seed". It describes her fight with kidney disease, transplants and Dialysis for many years. The book is on sale at the show for $10.
H. Thomas Greene, Shelby native and current resident has been an avid photographer for more than 30 years. Having turned professional photographer a few years ago, tom has traveled as close as the NC outer Banks and The Grand Tetons in Wyoming and as far as Beijing ,China. He is currently a member of the Buffalo Creek Gallery on the Square in Shelby. Tom custom frames his works and also frames for the public. His work is displayed at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, NC, Kings Mountain Historical Society and Museum as well as in several NC coastal gift shops.
