Cleveland Rutherford Kidney Association Provides Transport for Dialysis Patients
Bruce Thomas being transported by Michelle Hoyle

The Cleveland Rutherford Kidney Association was formed in 1980. Their first goal was to provide transportation for patients to and from dialysis in Lowell, NC. They sent a letter to Paul Porter explaining their goals. His response was an answer to their prayers. He gave them a brand new twelve passenger 1980 Dodge Van. Paul also suggested they use his Golf Course, "Riverbend", for their first fund raiser. Throughout the years he and Margaret have provided so much help for The Cleveland Rutherford Kidney Association.
Thirty-three years later the Paul and Margaret Porter Foundation is again providing a 2015 van for CRKA patients. Many people in Cleveland and Rutherford counties have made life easier for those who are on dialysis or have had kidney transplants. The Cleveland Rutherford Kidney Association would like to thank them all.
