Clyde Donald "Don" Gantt

Clyde Donald "Don" Gantt- 82, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015,
after an extended illness, he passed on to his heavenly home with his family
by his side at Hospice Wendover.

Don was born in Cleveland County on May 10, 1933. Don was a longtime member
of Double Shoals Baptist Church, and a member of the James Scism Sunday
school class. Avid sports fan of the Atlanta Braves, Duke Blue Devils, and
Burns Highs School Football. He coached both women's softball teams and RA
baseball at Double Shoals Baptist Church in the past. Retired after 43 years
of service at Doran Textiles, He had a love for his church family and
community. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially gardening, spending time
with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Lura Wright Gantt,
brothers, Bob and Mick Gantt, sisters Rachel Wellmon and Pearl Wellmon,
brother-in-law, John L. Giles

Survived by his wife of 63 years, Ioma Giles Gantt, daughters Beth Hoyle and
husband Everett, Jr, and Gail Bettis; son Kenny Gantt; brother Jim Gantt;
sister Jessie Rodriquez and husband John; sister-in-law Lib Gantt and Evie
Giles, Brenda Giles; bother-in-law, Junior Giles; grandchildren, Krystal
Taylor and husband Darrell, April Haskin Humphries, Ricky Haskin and wife
Tasha, and Amelia Gantt and fiancé Chris Hager, Rose Ray and husband Eric,
Trent Hoyle and wife Elizabeth, and Lacy Hoyle; great-grandchildren, Amber
Taylor and fiancé Andy Johnson, Seth Manuel, Steven Taylor, Kaylea Manuel,
Zachary Bradley, Logan Haskin, Laney Haskin, Kenneth Hager, Raven Hoyle,
Drew Hoyle, Dia Ray, Emma Ray, Ethan Hoyle; great-great grandchildren:
Damien Causby and lifelong friends Carl Spangler, Jr. Robert Earwood and Hal
Champion.

The family would like to thank Hospice Cleveland County in home nurses and
staff at Hospice Wendover for all of their loving care and a very special
thank you to Kendra Robinson and Kristin Price.

Family will receive friends at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation
Center, from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday. A guest register is available at
www.stameytysingerfuneralhome.com.
The funeral service will be at Double Shoals Baptist Church on Thursday at
2:00 pm with the Dr. Brian Johnson, and Dr. Eric Davis officiating. The
burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
