Clyde Green Williams, 74, of Cherryville, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, December 31, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Cleveland County, on October 11, 1947, he was a son of the late James Ira "Bunt" Williams and Lillie Mae Green Williams. Clyde was retired from maintenance at Ethan Allen and was a former auto diesel mechanic. He loved to fish and spend time with family and especially his grandkids. He was also a member of Plainsview Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years Lorene Hoyle Williams; Lora Smith and husband Michael of Cherryville and Glenda Heavner and husband, Rush of Vale; a brother Kenneth Williams and wife Barbara of Cherryville, and two sisters, Irene Martin and husband David of Hickory and Mary Ann Goodman of Cherryville; four grandchildren, David Williams and fiancée Carly Cook, Kaleb Hudson; Hank Williams; Lillie Jones and husband Jimmy; and three great-grandchildren, Weston Williams, Hannah Jones, Levi Williams.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Plainsview Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Key officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
