Cora Mae Gettys Wright Lookadoo, age 96, died Tuesday September 8, 2015 at Wendover Hospice. Born in Rutherford County on December 7, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Smith Jefferson and Anna Lilly McFarland Gettys. Cora was lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a godly woman and a homemaker who raised three children. In addition to her parents, Cora is preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Wright, second husband Ernest Lookadoo; an infant daughter; three brothers; and two sisters.

Cora is survived by two sons, Harold Wright of Statesville and Paul Wright of Sylvia; a daughter, Helen Parker of Shelby; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday September 10, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Chaplin Justin Williamson and the Rev. Dr. Terry Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm.
