Later, she joined Canaan Memorial where she was known as the Mother of the Church. Cora was a member of the Daytime Friends at the Senior Center, where she really enjoyed crafting, painting and the fellowship with her friends. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching game shows on tv.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Moore and Rowell Moore Jr.; one daughter, Norma Jean Little; one sister, Rovetta Dawkins, 2 brothers, Ed Surratt and Ernie Surratt; one niece, Pearl Norris; two sons-in-law, Russell Little and Kenneth Woods Sr.; two grandsons, Kenneth Woods Jr. and Eric Woods and one great-granddaughter, Courtney Brown.

Left to cherish her memories are three sons, Robert Moore (Barbara) Paul Moore (Ann) and Marshall Moore all of Shelby, N.C; three daughters, Ruby Woods of Shelby, N.C. Joyce Jefferies (Willie) of Gaffney, S.C. and Anita Jones of Detroit, Michigan; twenty-one grandchildren and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren, family and friends including her special friend Ada Powell.
