Coye Lee Walker, age 88, of Caroleen, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Coye was born Wednesday, July 4, 1934 in Rutherford County to the late Buster William Walker and Elma Lee Atkins Walker. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War. Coye worked for PPG Industries for thirty-six years before retirement. He was a faithful and longtime member of Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church where he was serving as the Chairman of the Deacon Board and taught Sunday School for thirty years. Coye enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed collecting and restoring bicycles. He loved his family dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-six years, Katherine Simmons Walker and a brother, Alvin K. Walker.

Left to cherish fond memories are his sister, Linda Carol Terry of Caroleen; brothers, Jerdean Walker of Forest City and Larry Edward Walker of Caroleen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Cash and Reverend Billy Poe Jones officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard after the service at the church. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
