Coye Mae Peeler Elmore, 94, of Lawndale, NC passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2022. She was a life-long resident of Cleveland County, NC.

Born November 13, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Barney Paris Peeler and Florence Lackey Peeler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Decatur Elmore; two brothers B.P.Peeler and Dr. Lackey Peeler; and one sister Ellen Peeler Powell.

She is survived by three children, Linda Elmore Goforth (Richard), Mike Elmore (Kathy), and Susan Elmore Mills (Hardee); eight grandchildren, Emily Browne (Doug), Lu Collazo ( Walter), Adam Elmore, Graham Elmore (Christy), Alex Goforth (Alexandra), Laura Blackwell (Burns), Ben Goforth (Emily), Gracie Batchelor (Will) and fourteen great grandchildren.

Coye graduated from Belwood High School and attended the Women's College of UNC in Greensboro, NC. She was an active and long time member of Kistler's United Methodist Church and had a variety of interests including sewing, needlework, gardening, reading, and porcelain doll-making. Mostly, she will be remembered for her love of family, selflessness, warm and embracing nature for generations of family members, and the ability to listen and comfort others.

Her life will be celebrated with a private family service officiated by Dr. Tim Elmore.
