Cynthia Ann Moore Weathers
Cynthia Ann Moore Weathers, of Harris, NC, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 while being surrounded by her loving family at Hospice House of Rutherford County. She was born April 4, 1957 in Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late Annie Mae Tate Moore, who passed away on January 10, 2004.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 42 years, Michael D. Weathers; one daughter, Dr. Mary Lela Weathers of Alexandria, Virginia; a sister, Sandra Moore Stewart and her husband, Robert C. Stewart of Harris.
Cindy was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1975, and Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton, NC where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1977. Cindy served as head nurse of a surgical floor at Shelby Hospital, Shelby, NC; administered chemotherapy treatments for 10 years while working with Oncologist Dr. Don Miller in Shelby; worked at Crawley Memorial Hospital in Boiling Springs, NC and at the time of her death she had been working for a number of years at Rutherford Regional Hospital, Rutherfordton, NC, as an RN in outpatient surgery and the 2nd floor medical unit.
During her 40 year career as an RN, Cindy touched the lives of many, many people. She was a gentle caring nurse for her patients, an empathetic shoulder to lean on for the patient's families, a mentor and support system for her co-workers, and an efficient, dependable nurse for the doctors and hospitals where she worked.
Cindy was a loving, devoted wife, mother and sister. She was a true and loyal friend to all those she loved. An angel truly walked among us. Beloved by so many people, she will be greatly missed here on earth while being joyfully received into the arms of her mama and all the other angels in Heaven.
At this time, the family appreciates being remembered in your thoughts and prayers. In honor of her wishes Cindy is being cremated. A memorial celebration of her life will be conducted at a later date.
