"Dancing With The Stars" A Success!
Dancing to the music of "Singing In The Rain", Hannah and Travis Laflin won two awards with their routine. They were declared Artistic Winners and 2nd Place in the Peoples Choice Award.
   On Saturday, September 15, the annual Communities In Schools Dancing with the Cleveland County Stars fundraiser took place at the Don Gibson Theatre. There was a wall to wall crowd that enjoyed a buffet dinner and taxi dancing prior to the big show. The competition began in the theatre at 7 p.m. Ten dedicated couples performed their routines to the delight of a packed audience. The routines were practiced and coordinated by Tammy Arrowood, Jada Henderson, Beth Mayo, Taffy Allen, Nicole Urash, Dance U.S.A. and Sam and Regina Lail, who served as choreographers. The winners were Peoples Choice: 1st Place: Joy and David Pharr; 2nd Place: Hannah and Travis Laflin; and 3rd Place: Mischia and Greg Taylor. The Artistic Winner was Hannah and Travis Laflin. The Crowd Pleaser Award went to Dee Hunt and Tyler Williams. Meranda Hendrick, Community Resource Coordinator for the event said: "It was twice as big as last year and we are grateful for the tremendous outcome! Once, again the community came together for a worthy cause." Master of Ceremonies was Stephen Savage. - MA Andrews
