Daniel Fogleman Awarded Boy Scout Eagle Rank
DANIEL FOGLEMAN
Daniel Fogleman of Boy Scout Troop 112 in Lawndale was awarded the rank of Eagle during an Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony at New Bethel Baptist Church, Lawndale on January 29, 2012.  Daniel is the son of Tony and Susan Fogleman of Lawndale.  His grandparents are Hoyte and Nelda Cline of Lawndale, Guy and Brenda Johnson of Raleigh, and Danny Fogleman of Garner, N.C.  The Fogleman family chose to dedicate the ceremony to the memory of Mr. Mac Lancaster for his many years of service to the Boy Scouts of America, the Piedmont Council, the Battleground District and for his encouragement to Daniel personally. The ceremony was followed by a luncheon in Daniel’s honor, hosted by his family.  Daniel’s journey with scouting began as a Tiger Cub at age six.  He advanced through Cub Scouts and Webloes earning his Arrow of Light.  He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow which is the National Honor Society of Boy Scouts bestowed on scouts selected by their peers as best exemplifying the ideals of scouting.  He has attended several summer scout camps at Camp Bud Schiele, the National Scout Jamboree at Fort AP Hill during the summer of 2010, and Philmont High Adventure Scout Camp in Cimarron, New Mexico during the summer of 2011. He has held various leadership positions in Troop 112 such as Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Patrol Leader.
Daniel’s Eagle project is a Veterans memorial including two flagpoles honoring all those from the church and community that have served in the United States military past and present.  There is a raised memorial plaque dedicated to all veterans.  The memorial was constructed on the front lawn of New Bethel Baptist Church in Lawndale and was dedicated to the church in July of 2011.  Daniel’s endeavor through this project is to provide a tribute to our nations veterans as well as acknowledge and exemplify the core beliefs of scouting through duty to God and country
