Daniel Lewis Jones, Sr., 88, of Boiling Springs, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Wendover Hospice.

Born in Cleveland County, on October 11, 1932, he was the son of the late Laddie C. Jones and Mary Jane Jones. He retired from Shelby Post Office and also served in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by thirteen brothers and sisters, one grandchild, one great-great-grandchild, and one son-in-law.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay B. Jones, two sons, Daniel Jones, Jr. (Nancy) of Fallston, NC and Steve Jones (Christy) of Hickory Grove, SC; five daughters, Debbie Burton of Forest City, NC, Susan Gravely (James Orr) of Hickory Grove, SC, Penny Pruett of Boiling Springs, NC, Mary Kane (Larry) of Shelby, NC and Sandra Jones of Boiling Springs, NC; multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Delozier of Shelby,NC.

He enjoyed fishing, photography and farming. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Cleveland Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1225 College Avenue, Shelby, NC 28152 at 11:00 AM. Internment following the service at Cleveland Memorial Park, Shelby, NC.
