Daniel Thomas Hyde, 83, of Shelby, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Atrium Health - Kings Mountain.

Born in Cherokee County, SC, on July 1, 1939 , he was a son of the late Rufus Homer Hyde and Pauline Curtis Hyde. He was retired from Dover Mill and was a veteran of the US Army.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Emily Ledbetter Hyde; brother, Kenneth Hyde; and sister Martha Nalley.

He is survived by his children, Thomas Blake Hyde and wife Nguyen of Pineville, Daniel Ray Hyde of Gainesville, GA and Sheila Diane Hyde of Gainesville, GA; stepson, Jerry Burns of Gainesville, GA; brother, Shannon Hyde and wife Dot of Mooresboro; sisters, Lavonda Childers, Beverly Conley, Sue Morrison all of Shelby, Gwen Morrison and husband Nathan of Boiling Springs, and Lynn Martin and husband Richard of Fallston; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jamaal Edwards officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Casar.
