Danny Edward Bridges, 82, of Shelby, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Born in Cleveland County on September 29, 1943, Danny was the son of the late Ralph Edward Bridges and Clara Sisk Hamrick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Doris J. Bridges, and his stepfather, Warren Hamrick.

A hardworking man throughout his life, Danny took great pride in everything he did. He had a deep appreciation for classic cars and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed spending time on the golf course, especially with his friends at Deerbrook. Over the years, he pursued many interests, including time spent as a pilot, but none brought him more joy than time with his family.

Above all, Danny was a proud and devoted "PawPaw," a title he cherished dearly.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Debbie Bridges and Connie Bridges Johnson; and his grandsons, Grant Johnson (Raven Gendron) and Evan Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, with Pastor Macky Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Mulls Memorial Church.
