Danny Raves Smith, 73 of Casar, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at his residence.

Born in Cleveland County, on November 3, 1949, he was the son of the late Mary Dee Smith. Danny was retired from North Hickory Furniture and the Community Mart in Fallston. He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lee Toy Smith; grandparents, Roscoe and Dessie Smith; son-in-law, Keith McDaniel; a brother, David Smith and a sister, Patsy Neal.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Helen Hamby Smith; two daughters, Danielle McDaniel of Drexel and Danette Crotts and husband, Matt of Belwood; brother, Steve Smith of Hickory; sister, Renee Neal and husband, Billy of Hickory; three grandchildren, Samantha Seabock and husband, Corey, Brittany Job and Cait'Lynn Crotts and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Charlotte Seabock.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Fulbright officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery.
