Danny Roland, age 55, of Bostic, NC, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at his residence.
Born August 11, 1962 in McDowell County, he was a son of the late Horace W. Roland and Beatrice Hudson Bumgarner. Danny worked as a mechanic for Watkins Service Center and was a member of Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church. He enjoyed watching westerns and pro-wrestling. Danny was also an avid NASCAR and dirt track racing fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewayne and Bill Roland and one grandson, Chandler Champion.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Beverly Ervin Roland; two daughters, Sidney Taylor of Caroleen and Danielle Champion and husband, Steve of Ellenboro; one son, David Seagle and wife, Katie of Georgia; five sisters, Peggy Hardin (Tommy) of Bostic, Cindy Munn of Bostic, Betty Babwari of Atlanta, Billie June Wells and Angela Roland both of Marion. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Blake and Noah Suttle, Cobie, Codie, Cecilie and Caylie Champion and Matty Seagle.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Donald Dover officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. At other times they will be gathered at 3136 Pea Ridge Road, Bostic, NC 28018.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be sent to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC 28043 to help defray funeral costs.
