Danny Silver, Jr., age 62, of Goode's Creek Church Road, Mooresboro, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Born January 10, 1955 in Gaston County, he was a son to Daniel Ray Silver, Sr. who resides in Forest City and the late Dorothy Elizabeth Yow Silver. He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1973 and attended Isothermal Community College. Danny worked for several area textile mills for many years and was a longtime member of Crestview Baptist Church. He enjoyed cooking for his family and everyone enjoyed his pound cake and peach pies. Danny loved the Lord, his family, church family and pastor and has left a legacy of faithfulness. He also enjoyed going to camp meetings, brotherhood meetings, the mountains and traveling to the lake with the seniors group. Danny will truly be missed by all those who knew him.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Mary Francis Henson Silver.
Besides his father, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of almost twenty-two years, Shirley Ballard Silver; brother, Ronnie Silver and wife, Joyce of Harris; two step-brothers, Eugene White of Forest City and Larry Silver of Ellenboro.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Crestview Baptist Church with Reverend Kevin Rohm and Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
