David Andrew Lail

David Andrew Lail, age 85, died Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Atrium Health-Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County on September 19, 1933, he was the son of the late Lee H. Lail and wife Eliza Ledford Lail. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956 during the Korean War. Later David worked for Fiber Industries - Celanese Corporation, from 1960 until his retirement in 1988.He was a fan of sports, hunting, working in his garden, and was active in the Friendship Masonic Lodge #388 A.F. & A.M. He was also proud to serve as a chaplain at the Friendship Masonic Lodge for several years. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Herbert Lail. David is survived by his special friend Margaret Duncan of Mooresboro, two sons, Alan Lail and wife Sandra of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Lee Lail and wife Kara of Ellenboro, and a daughter Patti Allen of Ellabell, GA. Five grandchildren, Morgan Rice and husband Darrell of Mooresboro, Shannon Lail of Summerville, SC, Rachel Manuszak and husband Alan of Ramstine Air Base, Germany Melanie Allen of Ellabell, GA, Lindsay Luckadoo of Ellenboro and one great-grandchild, James Walker Manuszak. Two brothers, Bill Lail of Shelby, and Max Lail of Lawndale as well as four sisters; Edna Hensley of Shelby, Raye Bridges of Cliffside, Betty Butler of Ellenboro and Mary Lail, Boiling Springs.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Crestview Baptist Church with Rev. Artie Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow with Masonic Rites by Friendship Masonic Lodge # 388 A.F. & A.M. in Cleveland Memorial Park cemetery.
