David Dean Pruitt, 66, died Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Atrium Health Main.

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Helen Pruitt. David loved working with his hands and enjoyed fishing, bowling and water and snow skiing. He worked at PPG for 25 years and had a loved for his grandchildren and family. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Pruitt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Gay Marie Pruitt of the home; daughter, Samantha Davis and husband Tim; son, Phillip Pruitt; step-son, Mitchell Bowen and wife Dawn, all of Shelby; sister, Ann Clary of Shelby; brothers, Charles Pruitt and wife Elizabeth of Polkville and Dicky Pruitt and wife Faye of Shelby; grandchildren, Ethan Davis and wife Skylar, Austin Bowen, Avery Bowen, Stevie Davis and Tristan Bowen; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Colton and Ella Marie; and his special K-9 companion, Gunnery.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Rock Springs Baptist Church, 1184 Rocksprings Road, Blacksburg, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the church. Pastor Jody McGaha will officiate.
