David Edmond Trawick

Dr. David Edmond Trawick, 82, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Asbury Health & Rehabilitation in Charlotte. A native of Bryson City, NC, he was born to the late James and Lexie Gibson Trawick. He graduated from Swain High School in 1957 and went on to attend Mars Hill College and then the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where he obtained a DDS degree. He was a faithful member of NC Rams Club and a member of the Isothermal Dental Society. After graduating from UNC he served in the US Air Force with the rank of Captain serving as a dentist. His first private practice was in Boiling Springs for 7 years and then practiced in Shelby for 33 years. Upon retirement he moved to Charlotte and resided at the Aldersgate Retirement Community.

Dr. Trawick is survived by his brother Tom Trawick and wife Ruth of Brasstown, NC, sister Sonya Trawick England of Morganton, NC, two nephews Rob & Kelly Bennett, and special friends Doris Duncan his chief assistant who worked for 40 years with him during his entire dental practice and Polly Reynolds.

A funeral service will be held Monday December 13, 2021 in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory at 11:00 am. Dr. Douglas Stroud, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior from 10-11:00 am. Burial with military honors will follow at 4:00 pm at Bryson City Cemetery.
