David Eugene Ellis, 57, of Shelby, North Carolina, died on October 31, 2022, at Hospice Wendover House. He was born and raised in Shelby, NC.

He was preceded in death by his father, the late Gene Carlisle Ellis.

A graduate of Shelby High School, he attended Cleveland Community College and ECPI in Charlotte.

He was employed in customer service and purchasing by local businesses. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church and in recent years attended LaFayette Street Church.

David is survived by his mother, Sue Emerson Ellis, and sister Ann; aunt Sandra Ellis, and cousin Alan; and uncle William John Emerson.

A graveside service celebrating Mr. Ellis' life will be held on November 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Rick Bowling presiding. The family will receive friends at Westview Baptist Church fellowship hall from 2:00 to 3:00 pm following the graveside.
